Whether you want fencing armor that looks like garb, or garb that passes
SCA Fencing Armor Standards, at the Linen Armor Mercantile
Company, we are dedicated to bringing you the highest quality, best
looking, most comfortable, most durable, fully functional, historically
accurate, SCA fencing armor, and WMA fighting garb available on the
market today.
Unlike other SCA fencing armor, and WMA fencing armors, typically made
of Trigger Poplin or duck canvas, that are hot, heavy, and don't breath well,
our "Fencing Garb" is so lightweight, and so comfortable, that you will want
to wear it all day, and so good looking that you'll want to wear it to Court!
All of our fencing armor is hand made, to order, from 100% European
Linen* and meets and/or exceeds all Society for Creative Anachronism
Kingdom and Society Rapier Combat Armor Requirements.
Also, with the exception of some of our Nobleman Line creations, all of our
fencing armor is machine washable! Although you may order a custom outfit
that may require hand washing, NONE of our armor will be "Dry Clean
Only."
WHY LINEN???
The linen that we use in our armor offers the full "Puncture Resistant"
protection required by SCA Corporate Rules, at only three layers, rather
than the four layers needed for more conventional fabrics.
Linen is a 100% natural fabric that absorbs moisture better, breathes better
(even when damp) and is more period than the poly-somethings usually
used for fencing armor.
All of our linen is pre-washed and subjected to three times the puncture
resistance testing required by SCA Corporate Rules.
